Course Overview

Ensuring high standards of food safety and the ability to demonstrate good knowledge is essential for every sector. This training course is specially designed for children and young people services and considers specific requirements in relation to food safety when working with children and young people and how high standards can be maintained and demonstrated.

This course identifies what practical action can be taken to reduce the risk of food poisoning, how to implement control measures and safeguards and what the law and sector regulations (The Children’s Homes Regulations (2015)) and Ofsted state about Food Safety requirements.

This course considers how to manage food safety standards in relation to shared and supported living and the specific considerations required when working with children and young people and in being prepared for internal audits and external food safety inspections. This is a Level 3 accredited course.

This Food Safety training course is available as in-house training at a venue of your own choice throughout the UK. Alternatively, also available remotely via a tutor led course over Zoom or Teams.

Audience for this course

This training course is designed for professionals who provide and/or prepare food in services which work within children and young people including residential support, education settings and education.

QCF Units

This Recording and Report Writing training course is designed to meet the standards outlined in the new Children's Homes (England) Regulations which were introduced on 1st April 2015 and can contribute to outcomes of QCF units including the National Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce.
